Mouli Cohen’s Views on the Growing Art Industry
Mouli Cohen is one of the few successful entrepreneurs who have reached far beyond their own crafts. He has devoted an astounding amount of effort to ventures concerned in the fields of biotechnology, the growing field of digital media and the ever stable field of entertainment.
After the announcements of the categories for the 30th Los Angeles Times Book Prizes, Cohen was among those who were pleasantly surprised upon the inclusion of graphic novels among the categories of the prestigious competition. In addition to the graphic arts, the award-giving body started recognizing innovators through the Innovators Award, which will be handed out to personalities who have committed to their fields and made innumerable contributions.
In his blog, Mouli Cohen narrated that this year’s Robert Kirsch Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Evan Connell. Connell has contributed to western American literature through his works entitled “Mrs. Bridge”, “Mr. Bridge”, and “Son of the Morning Star”. His works, which have already garnered awards from other award-giving bodies including the Times Book Prize, will receive recognition from the Los Angeles Book Prize for the first time this year.
Also in his blog, Cohen enumerated the five nominees for the different award categories. The categories include current interest, fiction, history, graphic novel, biography, poetry, thriller and mystery, first fiction, and young adult literature.
Different critics and specialists have been invited to serve as panel members for the awards deliberation. Over 100,000 Literature buffs and enthusiasts annually attend this prestigious awards ceremony for the field of literature.
